Happy Monday y’all!

Camelia, Violet, Abelour and Sweet Pea line up hoping for snacks.

We’ve been at the farm (GlenHaven) now for 3 years and for all of those 3 years there have been various fencing projects in the works. It’s sort of like road construction in the city – never ending!

Good fencing is important. Without good fencing bad things can happen and there will be a price to pay sooner or later.

Fences do 3 things.

First, they protect what’s inside – animals, land, crops or in this case, little farm girls who want to help with the chores.

Secondly fences keep others out – predators, poachers, trespassers – those who want to steal, kill or destroy your valuables. Ask my sister about her rose bushes and the goats!

Abelour (aka Bully) gives his warning glare. Don’t mess with my cows!

Third, fences establish boundaries and mark property ownership.

Our donkeys, Ethel and Lucy, help protect the livestock from coyotes. Plus they’re BFFs!

Where are your boundaries?

Have you set boundaries for yourself, your marriage, your family or are you just going with the flow – doing what feels good?

Have you ever found yourself in a place you didn’t want to be? Maybe your drinking got out of control and you screwed up.

What about your kids? Are they safe and protected from predators? Have you put a guard around your heart? Or your tongue? Does your wife feel secure with your marriage and affection?

Or does Jesse’s dilemma resemble your life?

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant place; yes, I have a good inheritance.” Psalm 16:6

Using the Word of God as a plumb line gives us security and confidence. It also comes with a reward: a good inheritance! We won’t end up in a big tangled mess.

Make a choice – don’t keep sitting on the fence, ensnared by the ways of the world.

Deuteronomy 7:6 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.

It’s not too late. Get to work today (instructions below) establishing your boundaries so they fall unpleasant places.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.” ~ 1 Peter 2:9

Check-Yourself

  1. Spend some quiet time with the Lord and ask Him to reveal where you’ve crossed the line. Don’t disregard the idea or image that floats through your head.
  2. REPENT – do a 180. Ask His forgiveness, give Him control of your life and walk towards Him not your own way.
  3. Pray – ask Him to establish your boundaries, to show you the Way.
  4. Celebrate that God loves you and is faithful to answer your prayer.
  5. Follow though daily.

Turn to Acts 17:26, “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, thought He is not far from each one of us.”

It’s all about HIM, y’all!
