Do you ever feel like you are standing on shifting sand?
Is your life filled with a niggling sense of uncertainty?
Are you reluctant to turn on the news because the headlines scream, FEAR! BE AFRAID!? The media loves to be the bearer of bad news but there is good news. In fact, there is a lot of Good News if we just know where to look.
Psalm 33:4 says, “For the word of the Lord is right and all His work is done in truth”
Right does not just mean correct – in Hebrew it means ‘straight’, ‘even’, ‘pleasant’, and ‘prosperous’. If we make a choice to stand on the word of the Lord we will stand in a pleasant, even place which will prosper us. Prosperity is not a reference to luxury cars and mansions it embodies those things which matter most: peace, hope, faith, love. Jesus is the Word of the Lord. (John 1:1) therefore standing on the Word of the Lord makes us prosperous!
The Lord’s work is done in truth – all of it, not just part of it. It is not cloaked in deception or necessary to do in secret because there is no shame in the work of the Lord. Jesus was transparent with His struggles. He wept (Luke 19:41). He went off to be alone with the Father and He was moved to compassion. Jesus accomplished many wondrous things but His work was to go to the cross for you and me. His purpose was about exhibiting the love of a Father to His children. God’s work is done in truth because it is done through Jesus and Jesus is the truth.
In other words Psalm 33:4 says,”For Jesus is right and all His [God’s] work is done in Jesus.”
These days are turbulent and tumultuous but there is hope! We have direction, the knowledge of where to stand in unstable times. We have access to peace, hope, faith and love.
Depending on ourselves puts us in danger of succumbing to the maelstrom of fear blasting from every direction. Hopelessness abounds and the waters of despair rise. But, there is another way.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. ~ John 14:6
If you already know Christ, get to know Him better. Stand on His Word by declaring His promises* when fear attempts to rise up. If you don’t know Jesus then get a fresh start with Him right now. [Click here for the tutorial].
Be encouraged, my friends, the news is good indeed! We can rest assured God’s work will prosper us. He will never leave us or forsake us,
He will establish us in peace (Romans 5:1).
His love gives us confidence (Romans 8:39). He is trustworthy.
He is a place of permanence. He is right and true.
But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall. ~ Matthew 7:26-27
Here are a few of God’s promises. Look up the passages in your Bible; mark them with a highlighter or pen like I do above so it’s easier to find them later.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7
